I started to build my railway in 1994

It’s made up out of steel and aluminium rail head and flat 1 x ½ “ flat bar I have tried to get as much track into the smallest area possible ,the tightest curve is 30ft.

By setting various points the engine can cover a total 525 metres. There are 12 points in the circuit and I am at present electrifying 7 off them and putting in a passing loop. A small station was made a few years ago using an old 8 x 6 garden shed. Since then we have erected a signal box to control points and signals.

A couple of semaphore signal gantry’s have been erected which cross over the track with 3 signal on.

All the points that are electrified have a switch in the signal box to select the route and Led lights to indicate . The points are worked by a 12 volt motor which I make myself. I get a lot of enjoyment from building my railway but never use it much except for the grandchildren and a few friends. A little time ago it was suggested that I should invite a few friends up from the Leicester Society of Model Engineers of which I joined in 1989.

It was then someone suggested that the track could be used for a few charity events such as Loros , rainbows ect, so this is what i have decided to do.
